Certified Phlebotomist

Searching for a Phlebotomist who has prior experience in a medical laboratory and is detail oriented and prepared to handle a dynamic work environment at off-site locations.

Required

• Minimum 2 years experience working in a laboratory
• At least 2 years phlebotomy experience
• Medical training
• Phlebotomy Certification and High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Experience with COVID-19 nasopharyngeal and buccal swab specimen collection and processing
• Willing to work off-site occasionally
• Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, on-call.
• Must demonstrate superior patient focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients;

Responsibilities

• Receive or collect, as well as process, samples
• Must be familiar with and practice safe work habits including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations (i.e. HIPPA, OSHA)
• Data entry and processing specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order.
• Responsible for completing all data entry requirements accurately including data entry of patient registration; entry of test order from requisition or pulling order from database; managing Standing Orders.
• Perform departmental-related clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed.
• Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.'

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Phlebotomy: 2 years (Preferred)
• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Preferred)
