The Wireless Construction Manager is responsible for all construction aspects of In-Building Wireless DAS systems along with outdoor 4G/5G small cells.
The Wireless Construction Manager performs a wide variety of installation activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing field equipment.
This role oversees the construction of such systems including oversight of subcontractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install high-capacity In-Building 4G and 5G DAS systems
- Install DAS head-end racking including BTS or BDA’s
- Install 4G/5G carrier small cells
- Oversight of all assigned cellular construction projects from site survey to closeout, including preconstruction, onsite check-ins, and internal and external communications with all stake holders
- Work with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to deploy wireless equipment successfully and efficiently
- Manage construction teams including subcontractors as needed
- Manage and maintain project budget
- Communicate project milestones and address issues as they arise with Project Manager
- Hands-on work with cable, coax, and fiber as well as hands on testing with multiple RF testing tools when needed
- Face-to-face interaction with onsite stakeholders
- Assist with development of project schedules
- Mentoring less experienced technicians

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday - 8-hour shift – 7:00a – 3:30p
- Ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required
Education:
- High school diploma
· Minimum of 5 years telecommunication experience; Minimum 3 years In-Building DAS experience
· Installation experience with at least one of the following OEM systems: JMA Wireless, CommScope, Corning
· Experience managing construction teams and subcontractors
· Experience with spectrum analyzers, PIM Analyzers, OTDR, sweep gear, Compression connector tools
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
· Ability to work outdoors
· Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
· Ability to work with and around electrical wires and components and/or ESD products
· Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites
Requirements:
· Experience in wireless and cellular industries with the ability to ensure high quality and safety standards
· Demonstrates ability to use basic hand and power tools for installation projects
· Working knowledge of AC and -48VDC power
· Working knowledge of test equipment including PIM testing, sweep analyzers, circuits, OTDR and signal generating sets
· Ability to read and understand construction drawings
· Strong time management skills
· Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a clean driving record
· Ability to work full-time
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Limited travel – possible overnight stays
