Job Title: Procurement Specialist - Negotiation and Contracting

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in negotiating and contracting for materials and services.

Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to oversee the procurement process for materials and services required for our site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiation, contract management, and vendor relations. This role is pivotal in ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability in the procurement of goods and services critical to our operations.


Responsibilities:

  1. Vendor Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for materials and services.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors.
  • Regularly assess vendor performance to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with contractual agreements.
  1. Negotiation and Contracting:
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments to address contractual and legal issues.
  1. Cost Management:
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices in procurement and contribute to the development of procurement policies.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and project management teams, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure alignment with overall business goals.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) with 7-9 years of Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist with a focus on negotiation and contracting.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with capital expenditures and industrial facility construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • CPM or CPSM Certification desired
  • Integrated use of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and strong working knowledge of MS office
