Job Summary:
The Computer Technician position is located at Beale AFB, California. The Computer Technician performs maintenance and operations on mission computer equipment located in the Consolidated Maintenance Operations Center (CMOC). Ensures diagnostic testing is conducted on all data processing systems and peripherals. Report status of any equipment changes, modifications, and anomalies immediately to the Space Force customer. Operates CMOC facilities and immediately responds to all reporting requirements. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the changing needs of contract performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance and operations on mission computer equipment
- Ensures diagnostic testing is conducted on all data processing systems and peripherals
- Reports status of any equipment status changes, modifications, and anomalies immediately to the Sector Operations Center–Beale (SOC-B) Crew Commander.
- Assures all configuration control procedures are followed
- Assists in the maintenance of the magnetic media library
- Supports missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness operations and testing
- Operates as Maintenance Monitor Console Operator (MMCO) as required
- Immediately responds to all reporting requirements
- Position requires shift duty
- Perform computer operations, maintenance, diagnostics, alignments, and modifications to computers, servers, and various types of network equipment to include Cisco switches and firewalls, and all associated peripherals
- Submit system outage reports, update Equipment Status Reports and enter reportable equipment into the Integrated Maintenance Database System (IMDS)
- Maintain accurate records, logs, files, prepare reports and supply documentation
- Follow and support all Safety and Security regulations and policies
- Perform all data reduction jobs, loading simulations, mission history tape recording, output routing, two-person simulation scenario control, visitor control log, access lists, and log entries
- Operate the Electronic Tape Transfer System (ETTS) by coordinating with the Systems Integration Lab (SIL) to obtain connection to the network, load files to the system, and transfer files to the distant-end
- Maintain control of software and associated simulation media. Maintain accurate classified control logs for all media types
- Provide maintenance and customer support for the Simulator-Tester
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Educational/Training Requirements:
- Must have an Active Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Technical school graduation
- Associates degree in computer science, computer systems or equivalent education
- Two years of computer maintenance on servers and workstations
- COMPTIA Security certification required
Supervision:
- Works under general supervision of the work center lead and Communications-Electronics Manager.

- Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends.
Physical Demands: (Indicate any special requirements, e.g., walking, lifting, travel requirements, etc.)
- Walking, siting, typing, bending, and lifting items as required within position requirements.
- Exerts limited physical energy. May have to handle 20-30 pound loads on occasion.
