The Human Resource Specialist will be responsible for and / or assist with assigned shared services human resources functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
- Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.
- Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
- Responsible for, or may assist, with reconciliation and processing of monthly medical, dental, vision, Life & Disability, 529 and Supplemental Voluntary Disability insurance invoices.
- Maintains company 401k records, reports and data entry and file transmittals.
- Prepares reports, documents, presentations and will be responsible for self audit of the HR Shared Services function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational / Training Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification desired.
- Knowledge of Costpoint desired.
Required Skills / Experience :
- General knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
- Attentive to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Able to produce quality work under pressure and tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Occasional travel may be required.
Work Environment :
- Office work environment
- Noise level of work environment is relatively quiet.
- Equipment used : Computer and other office tools.
Physical Demands :
Sedentary- involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for briefs periods of time. Exerts up 10 lbs.
of force to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
- Job is mostly sedentary in nature with repetitive computer work required.
- Some walking and standing on a limited scale may be required.
- Limited lifting required. Less than 20 pounds.
Other Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
