What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at Infectious Disease Associates?
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedures, medication administration and storage.
- Maintains continuity of care by documentation and communication within all team members.
- Provide care for and treats patients while in the infusion center, as directed by the provider.
- Prepares patients for infusion including patient assessment and follows clinical pathways, preparation of infusible product and administration of product per clinical protocols.
- Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient.
- Cleans infusion rooms as needed daily.
- Stocks infusion area, including rooms and infusion start up area.
- Possible supply ordering.
- Mixing and preparing intravenous antibiotics.
- PICC/Midline/PIV care per protocol.
- Venipuncture/PIV insertion.
- Patient education.
- Answer patient’s questions using good judgment when giving advice to the patient and documenting each phone call in detail.
- As part of a team, communicates any ideas or concerns and participates in problem solving when necessary.
- Perform daily tasks in an efficient and professional manner.
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.

Qualifications/Skills:
- RN license required.
- CPR certified required.
- 1 year hospital experience preferred.
- 1 year PIV insertion experience preferred.
- Previous medical office experience preferred.
- Computer skills required.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate to our patients in a kind, tactful and professional manner.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations required.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) is preferred.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Team player.
Job Type: Per Diem
Pay: $35 per hour
Benefits: Holidays are time and a half.
