Our client, REED Manufacturing at 1425 West 8th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania, is seeking experienced Production Planner to join their unionized organization. This position performs various production activities to ensure proper workflow throughout the manufacturing, assembly, and shipping departments at Reed Manufacturing Company. This is a critical position that interacts with almost all departments within Reed as well as outside parties. This position reports directly to the Materials Manager.
Specific Duties for this position include:
· Maintain Planner Work Benches, including manufacturing, assembly, and outside processing
· Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders through the complete production cycle.
· Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule
· Produce timely material requirements
· Produce reports to track/expedite outside processing and assembly vendors.
· Utilize ERP system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders
· Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
· Cycle Counting
· Maintain economic order quantities when planning.
· Expedite outside processing orders as needed.
· Performs other duties as required
Required knowledge and skills required for this position include:
· Possesses detailed knowledge of a manufacturing facility.
· Works well with a team and exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Possesses solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Ability to interact well with internal and external vendors.
· Excellent communication skills and is able to manage time efficiently.
· Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED. Five years of manufacturing, warehouse, and/or assembly planning experience is required. A positive, results-oriented, technically & statistically driven thought process along in-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software is also required.
