Job Description
Are you ready to elevate your career? We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Sales Tax Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with multistate and Canadian indirect tax regulations, making a significant impact on the efficiency of our tax processes. Your responsibilities will include:
Mastering Multistate Tax Compliance: Dive into the intricacies of multistate sales and use tax returns, ensuring each review is thorough and accurate.
Navigating Canadian Tax Regulations: Take the lead in reviewing Canadian GST returns, adding an international perspective to your tax expertise.
Timely Tax Filings: Manage and maintain our indirect tax return calendar, ensuring all filings are completed on time.
Detailed Reporting: Review monthly tax account reconciliations and reporting in Blackline, contributing to clear and concise financial records.
Product Taxability Assessment: Collaborate with the business to assess the taxability of new products and assign appropriate tax categories.
Nexus Review and Maintenance: Stay on top of nexus reviews and maintain up-to-date taxability matrices for our companies.
Broad Tax Oversight: Extend your impact by reviewing other business tax filings, such as property tax returns and annual business reports.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Tax Manager on various projects and tax audits, contributing to the success of the team.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- 4 years of multistate sales tax experience, with at least 1 year of experience reviewing returns.
- Experience working in a company with a high volume of returns (200 returns per month) and with multiple filing entities preferred.
- Experience working with Vertex O and Vertex Returns and/or Onesource preferred.
- SAP and/or Oracle knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Ability to balance working in multiple systems and maintain tax registrations across those systems.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Additional Information
The salary for this role is $73,000 - $93,000 depending on experience
