The Compliance Manager is responsible for managing Inframark’s internal compliance reporting process, managing regulatory inspection tracking and reporting, providing guidance to operations on permit and regulatory requirements, providing compliance risk assessments to support new business development, participating in investigations into regulatory reporting issues at the direction of Legal Counsel, providing onboarding training for new project managers, and supporting new project transitions.
This is a remote position. Must have Operations Experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review monthly excursion report details submitted by Operations
- Review root cause analyses and corrective action plans
- Prepare monthly compliance slide deck for Board and Regional reporting
- Prepare and present compliance performance results to Regional Management
- Monitor and report on changes in federal and state regulations
- Assist operations in reviewing and interpreting permit requirements and regulatory reporting requirements
- Review draft permits and changes in permit language, advising project managers of changes that impact compliance
- Draft new and revised Inframark Performance Standards to address compliance requirements
- Oversee management of the internal compliance reporting SharePoint site
- Manage the tracking and reporting of regulatory inspections and corrective actions
- Review inspection reports, sanitary surveys, and correspondence from regulators; advise stakeholders on potential enforcement issues
- Assist operations in responding to deficiencies and regulatory notices in conjunction with Legal Counsel
- Participate in investigations into regulatory reporting or other compliance issues as directed by Legal Counsel
- Conduct due diligence provide analysis to support Business Development in connection with new business pursuits
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education/Experience: BS degree and minimum of 10 years related experience in the water industry in an operations or regulatory compliance role, or in EPA or a state regulatory agency.
Technical: Strong knowledge of Clean Water Act / Safe Drinking Water Act regulatory and reporting requirements, as well as the NPDES permit requirements and permit language. Experience in preparing or reviewing regulatory reports and the underlying data and calculations. Sufficient knowledge of operations and treatment processes to understand the nature of deficiencies and corrective actions. Strong working knowledge of WIMS and Excel.
