Machine Shop Production Planner
1st Shift
We are searching for a beginner production planner who has previous manufacturing experience to schedule and maintain work orders and coordinate with the machine shop to ensure that we meet internal and external customer on-time deliveries while supporting the machine shop productivity and efficiency goals. This individual should want a new challenge and an experience to change and improve software and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop production schedules based on MRP requirements
- Monitor workload, capacity, and inventory
- Determine and maintain inventory levels
- Manage and maintain demand planning in MRP
- Enhance internal processes to eliminate redundant work and simplify process
- Identify and help resolve bottlenecks, part shortages, and shop capacity
- Prepare and communicate production status and reports
- Work with the purchasing department daily to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and castings
- Work with material handlers to ensure timely kitting of raw materials based on the machine shop schedule
- Communicate daily with production scheduler on any issues that will impact customer delivery
- Maintain daily schedule of work orders by start date and due date reflecting available material and resources
- Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years manufacturing experience
- Ability to make decisions based upon data trending and intuition, required
- Ability to interpret data and develop action plans, required
- Ability to handle changing priorities and unplanned workload
- Must possess problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate between multiple roles in the office and on the production floor
- JDE knowledge and understanding, a plus
- Showcase Query experience, a plus
- Microsoft Excel proficiency, a plus
- Experience in enhancing processes, a plus
- Detail oriented
- Highly Organized

Salary : $47,300 - $59,800
