Job Summary:
The Paralegal will provide support to the Assistant Corporate Secretary and other members of the international legal department. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to provide the highest quality administrative and legal supportin a professional and confident manner.
To be successful in this position, the candidate must be diligent, results oriented, have strong business acumen and have the demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow. This role requires someone who effectively multitasks without losing attention to details.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain key corporate documents and records through global subsidiary management database hCue (by CT Corp.)
- Prepare officer certificates, incumbency certificates, etc. as required.
- Support internal clients with Know Your Customer ("KYC") requests.
- Manage Service of Process notices relating to bankruptcies, subpoenas, wage garnishments, and, other litigation matters.
- Process settlement requests.
- Matter creation and management in enterprise legal management system, CounselLink.
- Law firm setup and supplier creation in financial system.
- Handle various ad hoc requests from Legal Business Partners & internal clients as assigned.
- Liaise with senior managers and executives.
Qualifications:
- 3 years corporate paralegal experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both; experience at a publicly-traded company a plus.
- Legal application knowledge, ideally HCue and CounselLink.
- Familiarity with corporate transactions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Successful candidate should be resourceful, self-sufficient and highly motivated.
- Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt and willingness to work on a variety of matters, in a fast-paced legal environment with frequently changing needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with strong computer and technical skills.
- The candidate must also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to flourish in a 'team' environment and also work independently.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Paralegal certification from an ABA approved paralegal program or equivalent experience (not required)
