The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for all aspects of the South Sioux City (SSC) operation for the warehouse, shipping and receiving, and logistics of all products. This position will process shipment orders, monitor the packaging and labeling of completed orders, monitor in-bound orders and evaluate the performance of carriers and shipment department employees. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the South Sioux City Maintenance inventory control programs necessary to support the facility. Finally, the Warehouse/Logistics Manager manages all in-bound and out-bound logistics for the site as well as the finished goods warehouse. This role provides authentic/empathic leadership for the Maintenance Spare Parts personnel and Shipping/Receiving associate(s). Core Responsibilities: Commitment to support and participate in our strong Safety culture of zero injuries and illnesses. A working knowledge and ability to follow site safety rules and specific safety practices. Demonstrate a willingness to participate in plant safety initiatives. Maintain accurate records of goods ordered, in transit, received into SAP, and project spending as well as raw materials, work in-progress production, and finished goods. Responsible for storage, distribution, and inventory management, as well as the inventory storeroom management and parts cycle counts. Spearhead all product shipping and distribution through SAP and directing daily warehousing and shipping/receiving operations. Perform production planning essential functions, working closely with Operations and Corporate scheduling, to ensure S&OP plan and site are aligned. Maintain shipping and receiving operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency. Provide authentic/empathic servant-based leadership for the Maintenance Storeroom personnel as well as the Shipping/Receiving associate(s), ensuring Owner’s Mindset is part of their daily activities. Act as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers. Collaborate with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment. Evaluate carrier performance and resolve issues with orders and logistics. Comply to shipping industry regulations and company policies. Enforce Company, plant and department policies and procedures and work instructions including but not limited to safety policies, GMP’s, HAACP and SQF standards. Ensure the compliance with all plant regulatory, ISO, Quality, Food Safety systems, GMP policies, guidelines, standards and requirements. Oversee and support administration with invoice payment for Ingredion’s Share Service Center. Use SAP Expertise to maintain validity and integrity of Maintenance equipment, spare part, raw material, production order, and warehouse management SAP module data. Track all plant production consumptions and inform department managers of spend versus budget. Reconcile POs with Invoices and complete monthly financial accruals, supporting department managers with SAP requests and ESKER Invoice approvals. Actively participate and support the plant LE() budget planning, providing department managers with actuals spend and forecasted pricing and recommendations for future spend targets. Oversee accuracy of Intelex supplier excellence module and approved supplier list Responsible for completion of month-end physical inventory of raw materials, chemicals/packaging, work in-progress, and finished goods. Responsible for finished goods warehouse, inventory levels, accuracy, and overall organization/cleanliness. Motivate and support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with delivery and/or follow-up/verification activities as required. Assist with Internal, 3rd party, customer and regulatory audits. Work with managers and team members to implement new strategies and initiatives to satisfy customer needs while reducing costs. Extensive experience in warehouse/logistics management roles with proven track record in leading teams to improve continuously the efficiency of methods. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience a plus. Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and regulatory inspections (OSHA, EPA, FDA, ODA). Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them, successful in building and mentoring high performance teams. Maturity, self-confidence and strong communication skills will be critical for this role. A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment. Budget preparation and Cost analysis preferred Qualified candidates will have: A bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, life science, or other related discipline and/or 5 years of warehouse/logistics management experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be forklift certified or able to be forklift certified to support the team as a forklift operator. In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation and shipping industry regulations. Extensive budgeting and reporting experience preferred. Excellent skills within the Microsoft Office suite. Expert in SAP roles including Warehouse Management. Experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with management’s expectations. Manufacturing knowledge, preferably in food manufacturing or similar industry. Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinkers. Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
