Job Summary:
School Year Intern: The R&D School Year Engineering Intern will work onsite during the school year for up to 40 hours per week. The R&D Intern will collaborate with engineers within the department as well as other Inogen associates involved with the R&D process. As an R&D Engineering intern, you will contribute to R&D deliverables, assist with new product development and sustaining tasks, optimize in-house development testing and processes, and engage in design control activities. The intern will meet regularly with their coach to define daily tasks and reporting.
Summer Interns: The R&D Summer Engineering Intern will be required to work onsite in Goleta, CA or Plano, TX closely collaborating with engineers within the department as well as other Inogen associates involved with the R&D process. The focus of this internship will be on the analysis of new innovation ideas from the clinical, technical regulatory and commercial perspectives. The intern will meet daily with their manager to define daily tasks and reporting.
Key Responsibilities May Include (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)
Work within the engineering department to develop and support Inogen projects and products.
Work independently to perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support product design and development.
Assist with research and development on new and existing projects.
Responsible for generation and completion of design control documents including verification and validation.
Collaborate with associates in Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Marketing to provide research of publicly available information for assigned projects.
Summarize information in the form of white papers, PowerPoint presentations or specific Inogen templates.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
Assist with any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience and Education)
Attending a two-year or four-year college (minimum of Junior year preferred) in the fields of Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing or related field.
Experience in researching and summarizing data from disparate sources is a plus.
Working understanding of clinical practice, regulatory affairs, marketing or engineering or the combination thereof is a plus.
