What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indexing Clerk position at Insight Global?
The Indexing Clerk will primarily work remotely, and is responsible for the accurate filing, scanning and indexing of health record documents into the company's electronic health record systems in accordance with HIPAA policies and Connecticut State law and the company's procedures. This will be a 3 month contract role with extensions.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains High Volume Sorting of Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health documents in the electronic health Record.
2. Maintains Confidentiality at all times pertaining to all matters governed by federal and state laws
3. Validates all documents received are placed into correct charts.
4. Processes web-based encounters received from patients utilizing their patient portal account. These messages include but not limited to messages to provider, Demographic changes, Prescription Requests, etc.
5. Locate, retrieve, maintain, organize and assist users in file/records. Ensure operating and quality standards are met and maintained.
6. Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, email or fax.
7. Maintains a good working relationship within the department and other departments.
Complies with the mandated in-service training workshops.
8.Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Education
- Associates or Him Certificate (RHIT)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Microsoft office Experience
- ECW\Centricity knowledge
- Prior experience in medical records preferred
