A client in Phoenix, AZ is looking for an Applications Analyst to join their team. The Senior Applications Analyst will focus on supporting the implementation of various big and small Merchandising applications projects and continue to support them through operational support. This includes transitioning the internally built promotion system to a cloud-based application (Periscope) and integrating it with SAP, Data Lake, and the Cloud system. The analyst will need to understand applications related to pricing and promotions and will primarily function as an analyst. Key responsibilities include utilizing SQL/PL SQL for data transmission, leveraging a newly acquired tool to analyze sales data, past promotions, and performance, and using data modeling to recommend future promotions based on sales history. Additionally, the role involves working within the SAP retail environment and delivering technology solutions that drive business transformations. The analyst will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, IT teams, and vendors, to ensure successful translation of requirements into solutions, maintaining high availability and minimal downtime for Merch Applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose solutions to complex business requirements.
• Creates business and functional design specifications. Identifies gaps between solution design and application capabilities and determines alternatives.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of various business processes within Merchandising, Retail, Pricing, Promotions, Digital and e-Commerce business areas.
• Gather and implement business driven requirements based on the given standards.
• Work closely with the Project Lead, Architect, and the Development team to ensure solution meets business needs.
• Ensures detailed technical requirements are captured from appropriate IT teams. Influences technical solution. Identifies gaps between technical design system/application capabilities and negotiates resolution.
• Facilitate the creation and execution of test plans, test cases and automation scripts; establish and manage acceptance criteria, participates in the identification of defects and works to resolution with Developers and business teams.
• Partner with Test Lead to oversee testing for the implemented functionalities and support all test phases.
• Participates in regular dialogue with business partners to help understand and shape ongoing operational requirements, issues, continuous delivery items and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in Production Support activities as such being on-call, incident management, system upgrade and disaster recovery to state few.
• Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking skills to deliver complex solutions.
• Take initiative and stay self-motivated.
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the team.
