This role involves managing and growing sales within the assigned territory. The Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, achieving sales targets, and driving business development in a fast-paced, ever-evolving medical environment. This role involves field sales of medical products through distribution channels, with a focus on DME, respiratory, wound care, and other key product areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving sales quotas, forecasting, closing sales with targeted accounts, maintaining key account relationships, driving new product sales, business development, managing expenses, and meeting target margins.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field sales of medical products via distribution channels.
  • Achieve and exceed sales quotas and forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and product sales.
  • Effectively manage time, territory coverage, and prioritize sales opportunities.
  • Represent the company confidently in all customer interactions.


Prospecting and Lead Generation:

  • Identifies and researches potential customers within assigned territories or market segments.
  • Utilizes various tools and strategies to generate leads, such as cold calling, email campaigns, and social media outreach.


Sales Engagement:

  • Initiates contact with leads and prospects to understand their needs, challenges, and buying preferences.
  • Compellingly presents product or service offerings, highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Generates revenue by engaging customers in a value-added sales dialogue.
  • Conducts product demonstrations or virtual presentations to showcase offerings, address customer inquiries, and ask for sales.


Pipeline Management:

  • Maintains accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
  • Leverages CRM to learn about the customer’s buying habits and deliver customized solutions that are thorough using a variety of media and communication channels.
  • Tracks and follows up on leads to ensure timely progressions through the sale funnel.
  • Collaborates with sales managers and team members to strategize on approaches to maximize sales opportunities.


Quota Achievement:

  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales quotas and targets consistently.
  • Develops and implements effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market share.


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with marketing, product development, the warehouse team, and customer support to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on sales performance, market insights, and customer feedback.
  • Write orders thoroughly and follow up with orders until successfully delivered, always setting up the right expectations for the customers in terms of stock-outs, alternative products, delivery date, price, and service.
  • Maintains and improves quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures.

You will love this job if you have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the medical products field.
  • Proven successful sales track record with documented achievements and key references.
  • Ability to generate strong leads.
  • Established relationships with current distributors and a strong past book of business preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing medical devices environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation with the ability to take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with CRM.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
