This professional will perform transactions throughout numerous HR segments, with exposure to different business units and specialties, therefore, a candidate who is eager to learn is desired! This position will sit at Coldwater Hospital in Coldwater, MI.

Duties:
- Performs tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Providing recruitment support activities such as posting, pre-screen interviews and coordination;
- Performing HRIS transactions and troubleshooting;
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience required.
- Knowledge of employment law and comfort with applying to daily activities.
- Bachelor's degree required (HR, Healthcare Administration, business)
- Experience in a Hospital and/or Healthcare environment preferred
- Experience and knowledge of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies is often a preferred
- Proficiency with Google Suite of tools
- Ability to be productive in an autonomous manner is imperative
- Tactful, yet firm communication style; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in taking initiative
