What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field installation technician position at Install IoT?
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician for the deployment of controllers and gateways that transmit I / O signals from PLCs to cloud-based dashboards.
The role involves installing hardware in proximity to I / O cards of PLCs across 8 designated locations and wiring I / O cards to controllers.
Responsibilities :
- Install controllers / gateways adjacent to I / O cards of PLCs, ensuring correct connectivity to output signals.
- Follow detailed wiring diagrams to accurately connect I / O card ports to corresponding terminals on the controller.
- Confirm successful data transmission to online dashboards after installation.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols on-site.
- Take detailed pictures of every installation. This will be used for documentation creation for the customer
Requirements :
- Proficient understanding of basic electrical concepts, especially pertaining to low-level DC voltage signals.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Experience in using electrical testing tools such as a multimeter and must have it ready to bring to the site.
- Previous experience in maintenance within the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Must possess personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, for on-site tasks. Safety goggles will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- The installation needs to be professional and a clean job. Zip ties and other consumables should be used to tidy up the installation.
