Summary:

We are currently seeking a State Controller to partner with practice leadership to help drive strategic initiatives both financial and operational. The State Controller assists in determining financial goals for the various operating units, analyzes and reports variances and maintains general ledger and related systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. He/she develops and presents management reports, coordinates and monitors financial budgets, and ensures financial reporting is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, the Controller is responsible for:

• Primary leader to the accounting/finance team
• Reports monthly results to key stakeholders in a timely manner with appropriate analysis of key performance indicators and adequate explanation of variances
• Presents financials at physician meetings, board meetings, and finance committee meetings
• Develops robust reporting packages as requested/needed by management and Physicians
• Willfully and accurately investigates all necessary detail and activity to correctly identify the causation of variance in the financial statements
• Responsible for the preparation of annual budget
• Communicates with key operational, physician and centralised support counterparts
• Brings forth recommendations for improvement and efficiency in all aspects of accounting and finance operations
• Performs ad hoc and pro forma analyses as needed/requested
• Manages all capital requisitions, including proforma and business case development
• Ensures adequate documentation, review and execution of internal controls as required by SOX – initiates and completes necessary remediation

Position requires:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with appropriate experience).
• Practice Management/Healthcare experience.
• 7 years of progressive Accounting experience with at least three years managing others
• Strong foundation in accounting required, but candidates also demonstrating strong analytical/FP&A experience preferred
• CPA and or MBA preferred, though not required
• Work in-person from the Corporate Office in Teaneck for a total of 4 days per week, initially, to build relationships, prioritise objectives, and establish a team culture. More days of remote work will be acceptable in the future as the State Controller capabilities are demonstrated and team objectives are met.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
