Integra Water has animmediate opening for an Operator – In Training (OIT) in Meridianville, AL. The Operator – In Training (OIT) is to assist and perform semi-skilled labor inthe operations of a .500 MGD WWTP and Pump Stations.
To assist the ORC (Operatorin Responsible Charge) in duties that pertain to the WWTP and PumpStations
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete task assigned by ORC or Supervisor ina timely and professional manner
- Assist in the collection of Wastewater samplesthroughout the WWTP
- The OIT will run process control such assludge judge, 30 min test, and Calibrate meters and use basic laboratory skillssuch as PH, DO, Ammonia,
- The OIT will help and assist in basicoperations such as the cleaning of bar screens and drum, activated sludgeprocess, wasting, drying beds and cleaning of UV system and cleaning ofWWTP
- The OIT will assist in all day-to-dayoperations which include valves, blowers, pumps, Returns, diffusers,
- The OIT will be expected to learn all benchsheets and how to correctly fill out all forms and sheets required byADEM
- The OIT will need basic math and readingskills and be able to learn and adapt to technology and use GIS and multipledifferent systems to help keep up with WWTP and Pump Stations
- The OIT is expected to attend all safety applyall safety measures in everyday operations
- The OIT must be willing to work after hourscalls and emergency response call to the WWTP and Pump Stations
- The OIT will assist in the inspecting of PumpStations visually and keep track of run times and grease and rag buildup.
- The OIT will assist the ORC and staff in theordering of chemicals, supplies and learning to oversee projects at the WWTPand Pump Stations
- The OIT will be expected to work from8am to 4pm unless otherwise noted by ORC
Knowledgeand Skills
- Basic Math and reading skills
- Basic knowledge of technology and the abilityto adapt to technology
- Ability to work professionally and efficientlywith coworkers and contractors on various projects
- Ability to work professionally with customersand clients
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in asituation that might require it to the best of the situation
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to keep records and maintain a cleanworkspace
- Experienceand Education
- High School Diploma and or GED
- Years of Experience may vary depending onposition
Other
- Position has potential for expose to sewer,water, chemicals, and loud noises
- Requires a Valid Alabama Drivers License
