Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are looking for a dedicated Transformer Winder to join our team. As a Transformer Winder for IPS you will be responsible for performing miscellaneous operations in connection with the repair and rewind of substation and transmission class power transformers. Responsibilities also may include:
- Untanking, cleaning parts, stacking iron, and rewind coils
- Size, assemble and connect coils
- Participate in daily operations discussion on customer products
Qualification and Competencies:
- Two or more years of experience winding multiple styles of coil including helical, pancake and sheet preferred
- Two or more years of experience winding with single conductors, and multiple conductors in parallel and in series preferred
- Able to read and interpret drawings/diagrams and specifications - (electrical, mechanical, connection, and coil design)
- Capable use of manual and power tools, micrometers, calipers and simple electrical measuring instruments
- Experience in low and high voltage transformer electrical testing preferred
- Strong oral and written communication as well as analytical skills
