Job purpose
As the IT Patch Administrator you will review, test, deploy security and application patches in the environments, and provide IT support for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based and Server-based Lan systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- Review, test, document, implement, and track software and operating system updates and security patches though out the enterprise
- Provide technical support to diagnose, analyze, research and resolve computer problems for internal and external customers in a mid-size Windows Enterprise environment
- Must be able to analyze data from multiple collection points to identify computers and systems that are out of compliance
- Must be familiar with one or more Windows native scripting languages 9PowerShell, DOS/Batch, VBScript, or others)
- Act as subject matter expert to peers, managements, and vendors on one or more areas of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills required to document findings and results, generate reports, attend meetings and represent the team
- Ability to analyze and present concepts, plans, causes and effects of issues and interact with management
- Level headed individual that can overcome the challenges of working to maintain a secure environment
- Manage WSUS, SCCM, SCEP, AV, GFI Languard, or other compliance tools for remediation
Qualifications
- Able to ensure completion of task assignments
- Show strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience in technology field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support role within an information technology department
- Patch management, IT customer care background, hands-on end user support experience
- Extensive knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware; familiarity with networking fundamentals, concepts, practices and procedures; working knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating system as well as Server 2012 and Server 2016 OS; intermediate/expert knowledge of Excel, Access, or other data Management tools; troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills
- Desired: Technical document creation experience, data compilation and analysis experience
