Mechanical Technician
Description/Job Summary
Ensure production equipment operates efficiently by performing equipment maintenance on a daily basis. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs for all production, facility and utility equipment. Seeking a self-motivated, experienced and dedicated individual. Must be able to work 12 hours shifts. Complies with all safety rules and procedures. Maintains and completed all required records. Individual must be available to work overtime as needed. Performs other duties as required, or assigned by Supervisor.
Responsibilities/Duties
Troubleshoot and reqpiar electrical and mechanical problems on industrial equipment (including extruders).
Perform routine preventative maintenance.
Mechanical tasks: troubleshoot and repair gear boxes. Troubleshoot and replace bearings, chains, belts and pulleys. MIG weld, Stick weld, drill and tap threaded holes. Read mechanical prints.
Electrical tasks: troubleshoot and replace AC and DC drives, temperature controls, start/stop electrical controls, troubleshoot PLC's, replace and wire 3-phase motors, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits. Read electrical, building, machine and flow diagram prints.
Basic plumbing skills, knowledge of fittings and thread types.
Required Education
High School Diploma/GED
Vocational education certificate or Journeyman Millwright highly preferred
Required Qualifications
3-5 years experience in an Industrial Maintenance Role
Ability to work on any shift, work overtime as needed, and be on a rotating on-call schedule.
Knowledge of basic computer skills (AutoCad a plus)
Good written and oral communication skills
