TITLE: Safety Coordinator
POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position will develop, implement, direct and audit the Minigrip LLC safety program. The safety coordinator will also direct and monitor safety related incidents and ensure paperwork accuracy and compliance. Additionally, this position will direct efforts towards continual safety improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Sound knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental laws
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
College degree or equivalent work experience
Experience working with HACCP, ISO 9000, Safety, Health, and Environment and GMP processes
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and computer-based training software
Ability to train groups of people
Ability to make decisions based on company policies and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule
30% travel required
Previous experience in Health and Safety, preferred
Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in theworkplace
Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Compliance Supervisor with developing Annual Safety Training Plan & Business Continuity Plan.
Train and test all employees according to the annual safety training schedule.
Prepare & maintain employee training records. Maintain updated records in Ground Control.
Oversee the completion of First Aid Responder and Blood Borne Pathogen Training.
Manage the Code Red training program.
Manage the forklift training and certification program.
Manage with personnel injury reports.
Manage accident investigations and ensure that accident follow-up recommendations are completed in a timely manner.
Maintain OSHA 300 log.
Attend and lead safety committee meetings.
Revise & update Employee Safety Manual.
Revise & update Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s).
Oversee risk assessment and maintain continuous audits on machinery for improvement ensuring PPE requirements are updated.
Conduct routine Safety & Health Inspections.
Conduct routine audit of First Aid Kits and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Maintain MSDS records and online system. Conduct chemical cabinet audit.
Keep plant safety rules updated.
Work closely with all personnel to continue having a safe working atmosphere.
Assist with customer complaints and the corrective action process.
Assist with plant-wide qualifications as needed.
Conduct a monthly GMP audit (all facilities)
Conduct a quarterly Pest Control Audit (all facilities)
Conduct a quarterly Brittle Glass and Plastic Audit (all facilities)
Conduct monthly inspections (Eyewash Stations, first aid kits, fire extinguishers)
Conduct a Fire Prevention Checklist (May & November)
Work with appropriate individual to conduct an annual review of SOPs and plans
Plan and conduct monthly safety meetings with all Minigrip employees
Perform other duties as requested by management.
