Essential Functions for the Safety Supervisor Include:
- Knowledgeable in DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Establish efficient routes and transportation schedules.
- Coordinate Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules.
- Monitor Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices.
- Provide reports to management on schedules and fleet progress.
- Develop methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency.
- Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
- Keep up-to-date on routes and any changes to them.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Actively listen, identifying problems and making decisions to resolve issues in a manner that projects trust and fairness.
- Represent the organization in a favorable manner.
- Clear and concise documentation of orders.
Minimum Required Qualifications for the Safety Supervisor Include:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.
- Prior CDL driving experience is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of government regulations is helpful.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient with MS Office.
- Able to type 40wpm with accuracy.
- Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problem's.
- Must be available for night and weekend on call rotation schedules.
