What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Control Analyst position at Interpublic Group?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cooperate in reviews of agencies risk assessments to determine frequency and scope of regional monitoring controls.
- Ensure consistency with the application of the group’s standard accounting policy (SP&Ps), control processes, SOX requirements, country rules and regulations across group companies in India.
- Perform site visit testing or ad-hoc/special projects for all India agencies and SSC.
- Monitoring monthly close process and review closing submissions.
- Identification, escalation and follow-up on risks, controls and accounting issues.
- Liaise with other appropriate stakeholders (RCT, Information System Team, Business Transformation Team, and SSC) in resolving any accounting or control issues identified. Provide guidance and timely follow up on each control issues identified.
- Provides advice to India SSC and agencies leadership on improvements to the SSC quality management program. Supports SSC teams with skills in process excellence, project management, facilitation, problem identification and solving, accelerating transformation and value creation to drive toward required outcomes.
- Documents work performed as per corporate policies and procedures.
- Work closely with SSC and local agencies on process improvement and performing SOX testing/remediation.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree/Master in Accounting and Finance equivalent. Professional certification of CPA/CA/ CFE and/or CIA preferred
- 2 to 4 years’ experience in financial, statutory and internal audit, business controls and process reengineering.
- The ideal candidate should have a mixture of both accounting firms and multinational corporation (MNC) exposure but not a must.
- Overseas exposures (working overseas or frequent business related travels abroad) preferred
- Fluent in both business writing and communication in English
- US GAAP and SAP system knowledge preferred
- Adaptability and willingness to travel when required (approximately 20% travel requirement within the Asia Pacific Region)
