Metal Finisher

Primary Function: Perform metal part cutoff, grinding, finishing, straightening and inspection operations demonstrating process and technical expertise needed to produce high quality investment castings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up fixtures and operate and maintain abrasive cut-off saw.
• Set up, operate and maintain stationary belt grinders for offhand grinding and hand tools for final finishing. Perform straightening operations to bring parts into dimensional specifications.
• Defect detection through visual inspection and use of measurement tools.
• Ensure that all operations assigned in the foundry have been performed correctly and to specifications.
• Help in other process areas if needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Precision offhand metal part grinding and press straightening experience is required.
• 2-3 years metalworking job shop experience, including operating abrasive saws and stationary grinders, preferred. Must be able to read prints and understand specifications.
• Able to use and read measurement equipment such as calipers and gauges.
• Able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours/day and capable of lifting 50-65 lb. occasionally throughout the day.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a forklift.
• High school diploma or GED.

Shift availability:

· Day shift

Schedule:

· 1st shift: 5:30am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday and Saturdays when needed

Salary: From $19.50 - $22.00 per hour

· Commensurate with experience
