    General Information:
    Perform administrative assistant support for student attendance to successfully accomplish the job responsibilities associated with the management of the office. This position follows the 10 month school schedule.

    Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma. Post secondary training preferred.
    • Bilingual skills preferred.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to accurately, confidentially and securely maintain and/or store records, documents, files and other information
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to determine, prioritize, schedule and complete job assignments and projects without supervision and within the time allocated
    • Ability to operate independently and effectively while following established procedures and protocols
    • Ability to anticipate and/or recognize problems and/or complications and to determine and implement practical corrective solutions to problems and issues
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills when completing unique or complex job assignments
    • Ability to maintain confidential information
    • Ability to organize and maintain computerized and/or manual records and files
    • Ability to work with detailed information accurately
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, outside agencies and the general public
    Responsibilities:
    • Answers phone and receives visitors, directs individuals to appropriate staff, sign in and out students, prepare admit slips.
    • Manage student attendance system including receiving student absence information through phone calls or email, marking attendance in the attendance system, running daily and yearly absence and tardy reports, generating attendance letters to parents and initiating attendance system notifications to parents regarding absences.
    • Maintain systems to track students who leave building for various student releases.
    • Collect homework as requested by students/parents for absent and homebound students
    • Assemble Attendance Appeal forms and follow up with necessary paperwork and filing after appeal meeting
    • Manage student lockers including maintaining a master locker book, providing combinations to students throughout the year.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of school events.
    • Send weekly communication to families in cooperation with administrators and translator.
    • Inform administrators and counselors of any noticeable attendance issues.
    • Provide yearly attendance data to AVID program coordinator.
    • Assist administrators and administrative assistants as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
    Pay and Benefits:
    The starting salary for this position is $23.24 per hour. This is a benefit eligible position including medical, dental, and life insurance, paid holidays, sick leave and vacation.
