This is an excellent opportunity for a well-versed operational leader, ideally with full leadership experience over multiple plants, as well as experience with the CVD or PVD coating process. This position is based in Madison Heights, MI, and will be responsible for over a total of 4 plants in 4 different states.

POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager position is diverse and contributes to all strategical elements of the business. Employee and customer satisfaction are key drivers for this role, as well as a financially healthy organization supported by the latest coating technologies and fully compliant with the Ionbond standards. The General Manager is responsible for the implementation and follow-up for the country/plant 3-year roadmaps. These should be in line with the Group's overall goals. The General Manager is a real team player and is a facilitator for others to grow. In this position you will be responsible for 4 service centers in 4 states; Madison Heights, MI, St. Paul, MN, Rockaway, NJ, and Portsmouth, NH.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and maintains a work climate and organizational structure that will lead to high levels of performance throughout all entities of the region. Clarifies lines of authority and promotes a cooperative "team" spirit throughout the organization. Plans for organizational changes, as appropriate and necessary, to balance with future operational/business trends.
- Supervises and leads country heads to achieve optimum levels of product quality, operational efficiency, service to customer, cost control, capacity utilization and profitability. He/she is in close contact with the country managers to coordinate machine and personal capacity and ensures an effective communication.
- Keeps team members informed of significant developments and changes and fulfills any other responsibilities to ensure that effective and open lines of communication are established and maintained throughout the organization.
- Ensures that all employees receive regular and meaningful training to perform their work effectively. Identifies "high potential" employees and ensures specific developmental plans are in place to "groom" them for future organizational opportunities.
- Promotes a positive attitude toward safety and ensures that prompt action is taken to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions as they become apparent. Ensures that safety and compliance programs are administered in line with company requirements and OSHA/AWAIR (US only) regulations. Maintains housekeeping and maintenance standards that will promote safe and efficient operations.
- Ensures all countries/plants have 3-year roadmaps for performance and investments in line with the Ionbond Group and Segment goals, the market they are operating in and the latest technology developments. He/she follows-up regularly with all team members on achievements and sets regular objectives to move forward in line with the plans. He/she is aware of the competitor situation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- BS degree preferred in Engineering.
- MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar leadership role in a service and production environment.
- Experience in an international (European) company desired.
- Experience in similar industry/affinity with PVD or CVD technology.
- Leadership experience over multiple sites preferred.
- P&L responsibility experience.
- Willing/flexibility for frequent travel, primarily nationwide to keep in touch/engaged with other responsible service centers. Occasional travel to headquarters in Europe. Estimated travel 15-25%.
- Ability to foster team work; initiate and manage company culture change.
- Ability to provide strategic direction to all employees in line with the company’s strategy and roadmap.
- Ability to lead from a compelling vision that inspires others to set high standards for themselves, work to their fullest capacity, and align around key business issues.
- Master level leadership skills due to work experience: Gives autonomy to others, takes responsibility, wants to improve and can execute through others, has a vision, strong team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills (internal and external/customer).
