Payment Operations Analyst

With the exception of our tech team, all employees work in our offices at Brookfield Place in the Financial District of New York City.

Position and Responsibilities Overview:

We are seeking a Payments Operations Analyst to support management and reconciliation of our incoming and outgoing payments volume across multiple payment methods (wire, ACH, card, etc) across dozens of investment entity accounts and the systems to ensure prompt, error-free application to investor subscriptions and outbound disbursement of payouts. The ideal candidate processes a keen systems-oriented mindset with a love of problem solving and fastidious attention to detail. The ideal candidate should also have working knowledge of SQL and/or Python/R and is prepared to ideate with the senior finance team on new workflow processes and efficiencies.

The role will be a critical member of the Investment Operations Team and will report to the Payment Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Building an in-depth understanding of our platform and how incoming and outgoing investor payments are processed
• Work with Payment Operations Manager and Investment Operations Team to:
  • Monitor incoming payments across investment entities on a daily basis
  • Ensure consistent and prompt application of payments to corresponding investment subscriptions
  • Communicate with bank and payment processor partners to investigate payment exceptions and cash breaks
  • Initiate and process outbound investor payouts
• Design and improve systems to handle and prioritize exception handling
• Coordinate with Customer Service and Investment Accounting teams to resolve payment exceptions, receive investor confirmations and
• Collaborate with the Finance and Engineering teams to to deliver process improvements

Requirements or Skill Sets:

• 1-3 years experience or background in fintech, financial service operations, payments, investment company middle- or back-office or or a related field
• Experience with high volume daily payments processing and completing daily reconciliations
• Working knowledge with SQL or other database tools preferred
• Working knowledge of Python or R preferred
• Knowledge of payments systems (ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT, card, etc) a plus
• Systems oriented, meticulous attention to detail
• Process-oriented. Interest and ability to build processes around workflow
• Able to leverage technology to create workflow efficiencies
• Excited by a high-growth, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to grow skill sets and responsibilities with the organization

Measurements of Success in First 90 Days:

• Accelerate pace of daily incoming payment reconciliation
• Improve workflow for outbound payouts
• Recommend 3 process improvements to improve accuracy and/or efficiency

Compensation:

• Compensation to be commensurate with experience level
