Overview
The Scientist Next Generation Sequencing is responsible for managing, maintaining, and operating NGS instruments, developing and performing NGS sample preparation, library preparations and sequencing methods as applied to the characterization and development of TIL therapies.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all NGS instruments; order NGS-related consumables and kits.
- Develop NGS sample preparation and sequencing methods as applied to the characterization and development of TIL therapies.
- Develop and execute complex molecular biology protocols, specifically various NGS-based library preparation and characterization protocols.
- Perform routine NGS experiments in support of Discovery, Translational Research, Process Development and Manufacturing as needed.
- Train other scientists on NGS library preparation and sequencing techniques.
- Manage relationships with NGS vendors and CROs as needed.
- Collaborate with Immunologists, Bioinformatics scientists and Process Development scientists on the design and interpretation of NGS experiments; provide technical expertise on NGS.
- Contribute to publications at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
- Maintain expertise in state-of-the-art NGS applications and methods.
Education and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or relevant fields.
- Industry experience preferred.
- Extensive experience performing Next Generation Sequencing experiments and developing NGS applications, including but not limited to whole transcriptome and whole exome sequencing, targeted DNA and RNA sequencing, single cell DNA and RNA sequencing etc.
- Extensive experience operating NGS library prep and sequencing instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Prior knowledge in immuno-oncology is a plus.
