QUALIFICATIONS:
- Is physically able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to tolerate hot, humid, and noisy kitchen environment.
- Must be physically able to lift items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Has manual dexterity to handle a variety of commercial food service equipment.
- Is able to follow designated production schedule and time frames.
- Performs calmly under stressful conditions.
- Have clear and understandable verbal and written communication skills.
- Is able to operate a point of service personal computer during meal service.

SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares baked menu items, including yeast rolls, cakes, cookies, brownies, and bars, quick breads following appropriate preparation methods.
- Reads, understands, and follows standardized recipes.
- Accurately able to adjust standardized recipe yields and ingredient quantities under direction of head baker and/or designee.
- Can identify quality products by sight, smell, and taste.
- Can accurately count, weigh, and measure recipe ingredients.
- Correctly count pre-packed menu items including bread, buns, and assorted crackers by transport site.
- Under direction of head baker and/or designee must be able to complete production records.
- Must be able to properly use quantity food service production equipment including convection and conventional ovens, dish machine, and other equipment as needed.
- Assists with serving, cashiering, kitchen and equipment cleaning and sanitation.
- Follows established sanitation guidelines and procedures for good preparation, safety, cleaning, and sanitation.
- Performs accurate mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 175 Contract Days 14 hrs required training. Work year as established by the Board of Directors. Wage established by district adopted salary schedules.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
