What are the responsibilities and job description for the Help desk technician position at IPC?
IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries is looking to hire a Level I Technical Support Administrator that will work to support local and remote networks comprised of servers, laptops, desktops, & various peripheral devices.
This role is responsible for help desk support, hardware / software setup & configuration, and end user account creation & management.
This position will have periodic on-call and after-hours maintenance duties. This position is in IPC’s Bannockburn, IL office.
Must be able to work in the Bannockburn, IL office at least 3-4 days / week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support for local and remote users in a road warrior-centric office environment via email, phone, Zoom, and help desk tickets.
- Maintenance and support of printers / copiers, networking, wireless APs, Conference room teleconference platforms, and other office peripherals.
- Desktop / laptop provisioning & configuration for new users and troubleshooting & replacements for existing users.
- Periodic after-hours maintenance of desktops & laptops.
- Travel to and support domestic trade shows several times per year.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 1-2 years’ experience performing help desk and desktop related functions in a corporate environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 / 11, Microsoft / Office 365.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 platforms, network topology & network technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.).
- Experience troubleshooting a variety of systems and applications (Zoom, Adobe, etc.).
- Experience providing remote, end user support (via RDP, TeamViewer, or other method).
- Some College or equivalent relevant experience
- Must be a self-starter and possess the desire to learn and grow with the position.
- Experience with Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen, etc.) a plus.
- Working understanding of Cloud technology platforms (Microsoft / Office 365, AWS, etc.) a plus.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A / Network / Security , AWS, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) a plus.
