Job Title: Accountant
Location: Urbana, Ohio
Job Overview and key duties (agile)
- Review and reporting of inventory movements, reconciliation, obsolescence, and communicating with plant(s) to keep accountability of controls and accuracy.
- Review of bank transactions, complete monthly reconciliation, and communicate with the team to ensure transactions are posted accurately and timely.
- Prepare and post standard monthly accrual entries and upkeep schedules. Such as intangibles, loans, taxes, utilities, capital leases, prepaids; etc.
- Prepare other reconciliations as assigned with accurate supporting documents, such as intercompany.
- Prepare tax reporting for approval while ensuring deadline met per controls.
- Review monthly Plant overhead and SG&A spend to determine if reclass is needed.
- Prepare monthly journal entries as needed and instructed by Controller as well as other miscellaneous entries.
- Prepare Cash Forecast for review.
- Closely monitor account activities and report and issues to management.
- Actively participate in the monthly closing while meeting all required deadlines.
- Assist Controller with the preparation forecasts and annual budgets.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and IPL accounting policies.
- Participate in year-end closing initiatives and other required audits.
- Complete ad-hoc analysis and reporting for various internal stakeholders.

Additional information (including specialized qualifications / skills)
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- ERP experience (IFS advantageous but not essential).
- Positive attitude, self-starter, organized, and deadline oriented.
- Comfortable in fast paced environment.
