The Shelbyville team is looking to fill the role of HR Manager in their Shelbyville, Kentucky facility to contribute their knowledge and experience to help support and align HR processes and procedures within the site. This position takes full ownership of all HR matters by leading and directing the routine functions of the department including recruitment, administering pay and benefits, enforcing company policies and practices, and is an integral part of the training and development of Shelbyville’s leadership team.
Reporting to the VP of HR, this is a demanding role for an ambitious and dynamic HR leader with drive, determination, and the desire to work in a highly commercial and growth-focused environment.
Position Title: HR Manager
Location: Shelbyville, Kentucky
The successful candidate will:
- Recruit, interview and hire new staff.
- Maintain engaged relationship staffing agencies to ensure timely recruitment for open roles.
- Lead the execution of HR systems including module implementation & HR operational-related projects including but not limited to the annual performance process, engagement survey, open enrollment.
- Provide perspective, guidance, and coaching to organizational leaders regarding business challenges and opportunities.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and support strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Collaborate with HR team members and leadership to create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Identify and make recommendations for outside training opportunities for employees as necessary.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records, and documentation.
- Ensure accuracy of internal payroll process.
- Ensure timely maintenance and updating of weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
- Conduct new hire orientations and coordinate training with appropriate departments.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
Essential experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or proven experience working in progressively responsible Human Resource roles.
- Experience working in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
- Strong relationship management and influence skills, with proven the ability to build trust across a diverse population of leaders and stakeholders.
- Applied knowledge and understanding of best-in-class HR practices and solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive results with resilience.
- Able to deal with multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand details and apply to big picture concepts.
