Job Description
The accountant will assist with a wide range of day-to-day accounting duties, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate and thorough financial records ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded
- Perform daily AR and AP functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and manage the company employee expense reimbursement system
- Maintain and manage the company purchase requisition system
- Maintain and manage the monthly asset records
- Assist with the month-end close process, including bank and account reconciliation and financial report preparation
- Prepare and submit monthly or quarterly sales tax returns, as needed
- Collaborate and communicate with other departments, as needed
- Communicate with customers and vendors, as needed
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Assist in creating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US University in business, finance or accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Understands accounting rules and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Oil and Gas billing portal experience preferred (Ariba, Smart GEP, OpenInvoice)
- QuickBooks experience preferred
