What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at IQVIA?
Role Purpose:
Serves as one of the department’s key subject matter expert (SME) for the core data and reporting tools used by Supplier Services. Supports business development, by assisting the Client Service Analysts in defining and developing high value client deliverables.
Acts as a key resource for producing such deliverables, ensuring they comply with all applicable business rules (e.g. confidentiality).
Responsible for remaining current on the associated data (e.g. issues, changes and enhancements) and acts as a key representative for Supplier Services across the company in related Stakeholder meetings. Disseminates applicable information to the department.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the IQVIA Prescription data (Xponent).
- Act as/become an expert in using the Supplier Services business intelligence toolset (Business Objects/RxInsight) and associated processes.
- Using experience and professional expertise, support Analysts, Managers and Account Management, in defining client deliverables in the related data, and where applicable build the deliverables using the internal toolset and/or other technology as applicable (e.g. Excel, Access).
- Ensure deliverables are designed and developed following all known business rules.
- Stay current on the related data sources and represent Supplier Services by attending applicable stakeholder meetings.
- Willingness to extend role beyond Prescription data to other IQVIA sources (e.g. Longitudinal, Sales data).
Self-motivated individual who can take ownership of tasks. Including:
• Responsible for the on-time completion of projects.
• Ability to learn new tools and processes
• Source data from the various IQVIA products/services
• Manipulate and format data, to provide high quality, high value deliverables.
• Combine IQVIA Data with client or third-party data as required
• Validates reports for data accuracy.
• Identifies and resolves any anomalies.
• Train, guide and answers questions from less experienced colleagues.
• Provide support to client facing teams, including direct client contact to assist in deliverable design and specification.
• Assists on the dept’s Helpdesk, and serves as an escalation point for resolving issues, exceptions and complex queries
• Supports the business/department in development and implementation of new systems and offerings
• Performs ongoing analysis and evaluation of existing processes with the objective of providing continuous improvements.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (in a relevant Business field with a Technical focus). Experience/exposure to the following is a plus:
- Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Business Objects)
- Report building/analyzing data
- SQL (basic understanding)
- Experience with other technology e.g. MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, business acumen, time management, customer service skills. Knowledge of current events and developments within the pharmaceutical marketplace, emphasizing issues concerning Retailers, Mail Service, Pharmacy Benefit Managers and Wholesalers.
