STARTING WAGE: $22.92 / hour
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME;CAREER SERVICE POSITION;BENEFITS ELIGIBLE
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of technical duties related to the use of various software applications and programs to assist in the development and maintenance of Iron County plats and GIS system documentation, including maintaining the Parcel Fabric of Iron County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) or more years of specialized experience and/or training in GIS and/or cadastral mapping and two (2) or more additional years of other related administrative and/or professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have and maintain a valid Utah Driver License
Must maintain compliance of Iron County Vehicle Policy - including maintaining an acceptable driving record
Must be certified (or working on certification) as a State of Utah Cadastral Mapper.
Attend any required seminars when needed and/or scheduled
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance with Iron County Drug and Alcohol policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of state certification and requirements; of GIS software and related programs; mapping scales and their most appropriate use; basic civil engineering practices and procedures; survey practices and procedures; terminology associated with legal documents; modern office practices and procedures. Skill in operating various technical tools and equipment associated with drafting and cartography; customer service and public relations; in the use of various drafting applications, including AutoCAD and GIS.
Ability to read and understand legal documents; to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize multiple responsibilities; to work unsupervised, as necessary, and accept responsibility for actions; to maintain cooperative working relationships; to letter and draw artistically; perform complex mathematical computations (i.e. calculating acreage).
