Job Description:
The Human Resources Director will support and perform duties across core business functions. Primary duties include human resources, payroll, and benefits administrative support. The HR Director will collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to support policies, procedures and practices on personnel and administrative matters, and lead a team of HR professionals from multiple locations around the US and potentially worldwide. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is dependable, organized, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and has the ability to work independently. This position reports to the CEO.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Promote and maintain corporate culture, climate, and employee relations of the organization.
- Oversee HR Management and department operations to adhere to organizational policies and procedures
- Communicate between company Executives and management
- Manage department budget
- Oversee all aspects of employee information from initial hire process to termination including data entry into payroll, timekeeping, and benefits carrier systems to ensure accurate record keeping
- Oversee, maintain, and improve HR systems and processes
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal legal requirements
- Coordinate with the recruiting department for orientation and in-processing of new employees
- Manage the annual benefits open-enrollment including conducting employee information, presentations/webinars, assisting with enrollments, and post enrollment audit
- Oversee the 401(K) enrollments, hardships, deferrals, contribution changes, and reports
- Lead human resources initiatives including retention strategies, climate surveys, mentoring and training, performance reviews, and exit interviews
- Interpret corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance
- Ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity Employment, Affirmative Action, VETS-4212, and other applicable federal mandated programs and filings
- Conduct all aspects of semi-monthly payroll process with oversight and input from Accounting Director including but not limited to reviewing on-call hours, overtime requirements, and updating benefits deductions
- Post payroll journal entry in accounting software
- Maintain timekeeping system with accurate project codes and pay/bill rates
- Run monthly project reports and post journal entries to reclassify time to specific projects
- Research and implement payroll tax requirements as needed
- Ensure proper use and protection of information assets by complying with the organization’s information privacy and security policies to protect assets from unauthorized access and by reporting any security events or potential events/risks to the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of related human resources experience including employee relations
- Effective HR administration and people management skills including experience supervising dispersed workforce
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices including experience working with outside legal counsel
- Experience with ADP required
- Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to maintain confidential information
- Must have good time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with database management and administration
- Knowledge and administration of 401(k) and group health insurance plans
- Ability to work independently and manage workload to consistently meet or exceed deadlines and expectations
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
