JOB DUTIES

Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) is seeking a dedicated Volunteer and Community Partnership Coordinator (VCPC)/After-
School Program Site Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and goals. The candidate will be responsible for integrating into the local community, building relationships, recruiting volunteers, and overseeing the daily operations of one after-school program site. Your work will directly impact children (ages 6-13) and their families by providing quality educational and enrichment services.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer and Community Partnership Coordinator
● Build and maintain relationships with parents, faith communities, local businesses, schools, government agencies, and other community stakeholders.
● Collaborate with community partners and parent leaders to identify strengths, challenges, and service gaps in the community.
● Plan and coordinate strategies to involve parents, educators, retired professionals, and community leaders as volunteers at the
Family Success Center (FSC).
● Implement methods to attract, train, and retain volunteer staff.
● Assist in developing joint proposals and partnerships with local institutions and agencies to provide new opportunities and services for FSC families.
● Maintain the current Community Resource Directory and provide referrals to local resources such as food pantries.
● Recruit volunteers and coordinate canvassing outreach efforts.
● Supervise, schedule, and provide direction to volunteers.
● Organize outreach, orientation, and training for volunteer workers.
● Notarize necessary community member paperwork under the supervision of the supervisor.
● Create and promote community activity flyers and work with ICC’s Digital Navigator to post events on social media platforms.
After-School Program Site Coordinator
● Provide daily oversight of the after-school program site and staff.
● Supervise all program staff, including teachers, tutors, enrichment specialists, and independent contractors.
● Develop and strengthen an after-school program with extra-curricular and academic activities, focusing on closing the achievement gap and integrating arts education.
● Create and maintain a schedule for project-based learning, academic, recreational, career development, service learning, and extra-curricular and arts activities.
● Manage program finances, including monthly attendance, food counts, classroom supply budget, and snack planning and purchasing.
● Ensure compliance with all NJ child care program licensing requirements.

● Conduct program evaluation and performance measurement assessments for the after-school program Group and Assistant
Group Leaders.
● Prepare monthly program reports with all required documentation by the specified due dates.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS OR QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
● Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, social work, community development, etc.) or five years of supervisory experience.
● Experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, and program management.
● Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
● Passion for working with children, parents/guardians, school representatives/teachers, and community members.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Knowledge of licensing requirements and compliance for childcare programs is a plus.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and social media platforms.
● Bilingual/Spanish-speaking strongly preferred
