Located in downtown Lake Oswego, Ironlight showcases panoramic views of Mt. Hood and the Cascades through an east-facing wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests transition between indoor and outdoor spaces through sliding glass doors opening onto two separate rooftop terraces. Ironlight can accommodate up to 200 seated guests with the ability to create custom intimate gathering areas within the space. The Ironlight team works with clients to ensure every event, social and corporate, is polished and memorable. We exceed client expectations in organization and hospitality.
Sales Manager
This position is responsible for leading all event sales at Ironlight, including wedding, social, and business events. Progress will be measured by established quarterly sales targets.
Position Overview
The Sales Manager is a management position at Ironlight. This position will work directly with Ironlight’s General Manager to implement a tactical sales plan with proactive and reactive strategies. This position will be expected to work independently and have the ability to make decisions.
The Sales Manager will respond to all inbound leads through our software system, email, and phone. This individual will be responsible for touring all prospective leads.
The Sales Manager will develop and execute proactive sales strategies, such as proactive sales calls/meetings, attending networking events, and organizing sales events.
The Sales Manager will develop professional and positive relationships to drive sales. They will also cultivate strong relationships within the vendor community.
This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, and managing details for events. This individual will work with Ironlight’s Venue Operations Manager in planning event details (floor plan, timeline, catering, vendor coordination). On the event day, this position will work with the Venue Managers and/or meet the admin/planning lead at the client access start time, facilitate any Ironlight set-up (either day-of or prior-to) and check in on attendees as appropriate throughout the event.
For weddings, the Sales Manager will work with the Venue Manager and wedding planner in planning event details (reviewing timeline and floor plan from wedding planner, coordinate and attend walkthroughs).
If present during client access time, this position will also be responsible for ensuring all safety protocols are adhered to and take the lead on any emergency response that may transpire during the event and rental times. Special attention must be given to alcohol service management and load-out in parking lot.
The Sales Manager position is a fulltime position, mixed between weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. Weekend tours and walkthroughs will be required in some cases.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years event sales experience.
- It is essential that this individual has developed relationships with the Portland event industry including: planners, catering partners, event rental companies, hotel partners, etc.
Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet quarterly sales goals as determined by leadership.
- Respond to all inbound leads within the Response Protocol parameters.
- Schedule and participate in sales tours / walkthroughs with clients, planners, and admins.
- Attend weekly team meetings to discuss sales progress, past event feedback and upcoming sales/event planning.
- Determine and coordinate all planning needs for upcoming events.
- Maintain well documented, accurate, organized and up to date file management to serve client and the employer in the most expedient, organized, and knowledgeable manner.
- Seamlessly transition an event from sales to Venue Operations Manager; and back to sales post-event.
- Develop strong client, planner, and admin relationships through appropriate communication.
- Follow up on all client needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
- Focus on revenue-generating activity and maximize sales through client retention.
- Confident at supervising a large group of guests and vendors.
- Excellent communication skills required for interaction with clients and guests.
- Independently create floor plans, timeline, and other documents for event execution.
- Work with client, admin, or planner to ensure all details for event are confirmed.
- Coordinate and attend walkthroughs for upcoming events.
- Execute event timeline either independently or alongside planning lead.
- Working knowledge of basic business meeting technology (Screen-sharing, Zoom, etc.) and/or fast learner of venue technology.
- Oversee load-in and load-out of vendor/rentals. Ensure building and code protocols are adhered to.
- Supervise and enforce OLCC guidelines.
- Set-up or breakdown furniture: Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying tables, chairs, boxes.
- Bending/kneeling required for taping down cords, dressing tables, picking up floor after function occasionally.
- Report and critique all activities to venue owners.
- Perform cleaning and janitorial services, as needed during event.
- Due to the nature of the business the Lead Sales Manager may be required to do other duties and special projects.
