Job Title: HR Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Work Location: Richland, WA

Reports to: HR Director

Exempt Non-Exempt

Objective

This position will support a broad range of Human Resource (HR) activities across the organization. Day to day activities include interviewing, negotiating, and making job offers, administering benefits/leaves, employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains Human Capital Management System (HCM), including but not limited to: inputting employee data, creating reports, troubleshooting issues, collaborating with HCM support staff and maintaining the portal.
  • Onboarding new employees to include new hire paperwork, Isoray accounts, building access, access to training platforms and new hire orientation.
  • Participate and supports training initiatives, including delivering training.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Draft initial HR policies and ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, law, standards and government regulations.
  • Maintains records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, payroll, performance appraisals and employee benefits.
  • Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate employee files in compliance with retention policy.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR required.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to listen and respond objectively.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Ability to interact with and address groups at any level of management
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change
  • Ability to direct workflow

This position requires the ability to stand for varying lengths of time and walk to perform work. This includes the ability to be on the manufacturing floor. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Pay: From $58,000.00 per year
