Job Title: Purchasing/ Procurement Manager
Position Overview:
The Purchasing/Procurement Manager will hold a pivotal leadership role within our high-end architectural woodworking company, overseeing the strategic procurement process from sourcing to delivery. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive trade management experience, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proven track record in negotiation and vendor management. The Purchasing/Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing a team of purchasing agents, cultivating vendor relationships, optimizing procurement strategies, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and purchasing contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to meet the company's material needs efficiently and cost-effectively, considering quality, reliability, and sustainability.
- Vendor Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of purchasing agents, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Procurement Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to analyze purchasing trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize inventory levels while minimizing risk.
- Manufacturing Processes: Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment between procurement activities and manufacturing processes, optimizing workflow and minimizing disruptions.
- Quality Standards: Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications throughout the procurement process, conducting supplier audits and quality inspections as needed.
- Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation, administration, and enforcement of purchasing contracts, monitoring performance, and resolving disputes in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Write Purchase Orders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes, implementing contingency plans as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on trade management within the architectural woodworking or construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of securing favorable terms and pricing.
- Extensive experience managing multiple purchasing agents, vendors, and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and purchasing contracts relevant to architectural woodworking projects.
- Proficiency in procurement analytics, including cost analysis, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization.
- Familiarity with "just in time" purchasing principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

Pay: $135,000.00 per year
