Job Description
Position Objective:
To maintain a steady flow of quality product by coordinating the assignment of personnel to efficiently operate assembly equipment and related equipment while maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring adherence to all related procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assembles manufactured products according to procedure.
- Work with shift supervisors to establish priorities for each shift and then appropriately assign Assemblers to support production needs.
- Ensure material handler responsibilities are being met.
- Train and orient both new and temporary Assemblers to ITW Drawform and our quality systems.
- Assist Production Supervisors and Managers as needed.
- Coordinate 5S efforts throughout the shop, on all shifts, to ensure that the 5S standards are maintained consistently.
- Identify and correct any existing or potential safety violations with employees and report unsafe conditions to Supervisor, as well as identify and implement corrective actions where safety issues exist.
- Routinely audit the quality of the parts and processes (SPC, gages, paperwork, operator training), and determine and deliver additional training that may be needed.
- Work with individuals, as needed, to train on correct procedures and to correct performance issues that may exist.
- Give regular input to shift Supervisor for reward, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices. Report any concerns on non-adherence to appropriate Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned or delegated.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Able to lift approximately 40-60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Prolonged periods standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between parts, pieces, and various components.
- Demonstrates proficiency of gauging and inspection procedures.
- Demonstrates basic proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and instructions.
