The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments seeking a Certified Welder, Metal Fabricator for their Cooking Business Unit located in Troy, Ohio.
The Cooking Business Unit produces Vulcan brand energy efficient steam cooking equipment including steamers, braising pans and kettles found in large chain restaurants, emerging/regional chains, independent restaurants, K-12 schools, grocery and hotels/recreation. Vulcan has been recognized by chefs and operators throughout the world for its top-quality, energy efficient commercial cooking equipment.
Job Description
Qualified welder will be responsible for performing a variety of welding operations while observing safety, housekeeping and quality management system procedures. Will plan work and support the organization through teamwork. Qualified applicants must complete and successfully pass written welding and hands-on performance tests to be considered. Must be able to successfully pass certified welding qualification tests.
Qualifications
- Plan, layout and perform a wide range of welding and sheet metal fabrication operations including GTAW, GMAW, etc.
- Read and interpret prints, shop orders, standard procedures, written and verbal instructions.
- Determine welding technique required for making the weld under a variety of conditions including selection of proper wire and Tungsten tips.
- Able to utilize various measuring devices such as scales, tape, square, calipers.
- Move parts and materials utilizing hoists, hand trucks, etc.
- Set up and operate a variety of sheet metal equipment and welders.
- Requires meeting exacting quality standards per ASME standards
- Attendance is essential.
- Prolonged standing, sitting, walking in hot/cold manufacturing environment
Additional Information
Starting pay $19.79 per hour, increase to $22.27 after 90 days and tops out at $24.74 after 6 months.
Requires weekly/weekend overtime.
