Job DescriptionPosition Objective
This is an exciting time to join the ITW Drawform HR team. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager that wants the opportunity to partner with other HR Professionals and Drawform Leaders in all aspects of the business.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for ensuring HR strategy aligns with business plans and strategic objectives for the assigned business segment. You will play an integral role in creating a positive culture while demonstrating ITW Values. This position will support day-to-day employee relations and all phases of the employee life cycle activities, such as recruitment, onboarding, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, organizational design, talent management, employee development and performance management. It is extremely important that you can work both independently and as part of a team. You must be a self-starter and possess a strong organization/priority skill set. This position is responsible for legal compliance in a multi-state region to ensure that employment practices are compliant with advancing state and federal regulations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable to lead, manage, support, and provide direction through Division goals/objectives setting performance monitoring and reviews, communication, and the execution of on-the-job training and development plans.
- Consults with and advises business leadership on organizational design to enable the business to grow and operate effectively including evaluation of job design and role/responsibility clarity.
- Promote company safety culture and ensure the facility is following all company policies and procedures.
- Establishes and implements Human Resource strategies, direction and functional goals directly linked to the support of the business plans for the organization.
- Reviews existing human resources policies and procedures within the business for which they are responsible, and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, corporate policies, and business objectives.
- Support the payroll process through submitting accurate employees' hours worked, including bonus and cash awards
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, coach and empower leaders.
- A solid understanding of the critical principles of employment law
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in human resources, including management.
- Results-oriented HR Partner committed to “meeting people where they are”, with the expert ability to translate strategies into actionable, measurable, and achievable plans.
- Demonstrated experience supporting upper-level management with complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high emotional intelligence and professional presence.
- Team player with a positive attitude who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the organization.
- Independent and organized work style: Effectively manage time and prioritize workload, assume, and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes.
- Strong analytic skills, ability to research data and present findings in an organized fashion, and ability to make recommendations on course of action.
- Strong technical skills / aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, and Excel) and HRIS system (Ceridian Dayforce, Workday).
- Customer Service experience.
- Ability to adapt to all situations and handle change and conflict to a positive outcome.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams.
- Master’s Degree or HR Certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
