IV Care Options has an opportunity for an experienced certified pharmacy technician, familiar with compounding procedures using aseptic technique, weighing, measuring, mixing ingredients, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
Job Requirements
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the performance of technical and clerical duties involved in the daily operations of the Pharmacy, as allowed by law and/or regulation.
Major Responsibilities:
• Assists the pharmacist with the compounding of intravenous solutions according to the principles of strict aseptic technique.
• Assists the pharmacist with the dispensing of items ordered by a physician pursuant to a valid prescription.
• Checks and maintains inventory levels; places inventory orders, logs in new inventories.
• Check for expired/unusable products and disposes of them properly.
• Documents all activities appropriately.
• Answers and initiates communications related to providing pharmaceutical care.
• Prepares delivery tickets.
• Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining, and tracking all infusion-related equipment.
• Fulfills the duties of the patient delivery representative when required.
• Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
• Strives to achieve cost-effectiveness in all areas (including purchasing, inventory control, staffing delivery services).
• Performs other duties, special tasks/projects as required.
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician course with certificate.
• Continuing education necessary to maintain current licensure in all states licensed.
• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Tech experience, with preferably one year of training/experience in alternate site/home health pharmacy practice and the preparation of sterile products.
• Maintain a current pharmacy technician certificate where required by law and/or regulation.
