We are looking for an entry level or experienced Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and monitoring the shipping and receiving process to ensure a smooth and consistent operation. This position supports the manufacturing process by ensuring materials needed are marked and stocked in their proper locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Responsible for assisting with all shipping (UPS, Oversized, schedule trucks, load product) in Shipping & Receiving Coordinators absence.

Assist in the following as necessary:

  • Receiving all material (steel, odds & ends, motors, fans, sheet & plate, etc)
  • Coordinating and scheduling all outbound carriers directly with our customers
  • Process daily shipping activities
  • Coordinate the loading and shipping of manufactured material to assure on-time delivery
  • Prepare shipping paperwork and contact field personnel with trucks/trailers as needed.
  • Track shipments and handle paperwork for lost, damaged or partial orders
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Receive daily truck shipments for both inventory and non-inventory items
  • Preparing outbound shipping documentation

Fleet/Vehicle Responsibilities

  • Assign vehicles to necessary/responsible parties
  • Ensure proper maintenance is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure vehicles maintain cleanliness
  • Ensure that DOT inspections are completed by third party vendor and give paperwork to Safety Coordinator
  • Maintain vehicle records

Job Trailers

  • Assign job trailers to necessary/responsible parties
  • Ensure proper maintenance is completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain inspection schedule/records

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming material inspections and check for damage
  • Verify stock received by piece count, weight or length
  • Place inventory in proper locations making sure to organize stock and job related materials
  • Keep yard neat and orderly
  • Ensure Company trucks and trailers are maintained
  • Maintain dumpster and salvage removal areas of yard, including coordinating pick up and deliveries
  • Maintain good housekeeping

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position may have some supervisory responsibility when directing the efforts of a pre-apprentice.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position which will typically involve at least 40 hours of work a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be able to work overtime if necessary. Hours are typically from 6 am to 2:30pm Monday - Friday.

TRAVEL

This position may require minimal travel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing warehouse environment
