What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer/Product Development (wedding, giftware, home decor, fashion) position at Ivy Lane Design?
Ivy Lane Design, a wedding accessory and giftware design, manufacturing and online retailer with an 80-year history is seeking a creative, well-organized, flexible team player to be product designer and sourcing specialist to work out of its Wauconda, IL headquarters. In addition to product design, responsibilities also include product sourcing and logistics, and related administrative activities. The person we are looking for needs to be familiar with and well-versed in current trends in wedding, fashion, home decor and giftware. Products designed will be sourced and/or manufactured and sold via traditional sales channels as well as online websites and marketplaces. Collaboration with in-house, and outside, graphic and other designers on all aspects of product creation, sourcing and sales. Knowledge of the capabilities of in-house production machines, including Direct to Garment printers, UV flatbed printers, wide format printers, laser engravers, embroidery machines, cutting machines, heat presses, sublimation printers and presses, foil-imprinting machines, etc., and the computers (Mac and PC) controlling those machines, a plus. Candidate may be cross trained on some, or all of, the machines for design-, and possibly some limited production-, related purposes.
The ideal candidate will have some product design experience and/or design-related education, or at least a clear and strong design sense and work ethic to work directly with management/ownership for development of products and markets
Knowledge of Mac and Adobe CS, Office and equivalents, a must. PC experience a plus.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
