Position Overview: Maü Miami is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for Mediterranean cuisine, and a commitment to maintaining the highest culinary standards. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring that all dishes meet our quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring that they adhere to our standards of quality and consistency. Oversee food production, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of flavor and presentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations. Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and refine existing dishes. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning. Assist in managing food costs and controlling waste. Handle guest inquiries and feedback, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Participate in training and development programs for kitchen staff. Step in for the Executive Chef in their absence, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Qualifications: 3 years or more of proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a high-volume restaurant. Strong knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and cooking techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and improving guest satisfaction. Culinary school diploma or relevant certification preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., ServSafe, Food Handler’s Certification) are a plus.
